Position: Fire Safety Officer in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Fire Safety

Role: Non-Teaching, protecting resources / property by preventing fire hazards, ensuring legal compliance with safety codes, and managing emergency responses

Salary: Open to discussion

Location: Al-Karim University, Katihar, Bihar

Closing date: 31st August 2026

Qualification:

· Minimum Higher Secondary (10+2) passed followed by a specialized Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Fire Engineering and Safety

· Desirable credentials such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) certifications, or local state fire service courses.

Experience: 2 to 5+ years of experience

Skills:

· Deep understanding of fire science, behavior, ignition sources, and active/passive suppression systems.

· Mastery of local and national building codes, fire safety ordinances, and statutory compliance protocols.

· Ability to spot fire hazards, perform safety audits, and draft actionable mitigation plans.

· Emergency Preparedness: Skill in designing evacuation blueprints, running mock drills, and leading first-response teams.

· Clear verbal and written skills to train employees, coordinate with management, and remain calm under crisis. Ability to respond appropriately during emergencies.
