Sleep Lab Technician (Polysomnography Technician) in the Department of Respiratory Medicine

Position: Sleep Lab Technician (Polysomnography Technician) in the Department of Respiratory Medicine

Role: Non-Teaching, The Sleep Lab Technician is responsible for conducting overnight and daytime sleep studies (polysomnography), monitoring patients during testing, operating sleep diagnostic equipment, and ensuring accurate data collection to assist physicians in diagnosing and managing sleep disorders.

Salary: Open to discussion

Location: Katihar Medical College, Al-Karim University, Katihar, Bihar

Closing date: 31st August 2026

 

Qualification:

· Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, Neurophysiology Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Cardiopulmonary Technology

· Certification in Polysomnographic Technology or Sleep Technology is preferred.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is desirable.

 

Experience:

· Freshers with appropriate training in polysomnography may be considered.

· 1–3 years of experience in a sleep laboratory is preferred.

 

Skills:

· Knowledge of sleep physiology and sleep disorders.

· Proficiency in operating polysomnography systems and CPAP/BiPAP equipment.

· Ability to recognize and address technical artifacts during sleep studies.

· Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills.

· Attention to detail and accurate documentation.

· Basic computer and electronic medical record (EMR) skills.

· Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
